Cybersecurity is moving out of the IT department and into the boardroom. As NIS2 and new national cybersecurity regulations reshape the way companies approach digital risk, business leaders face a new question: what does compliance actually mean in practice?
At IT SPOT 2026, the panel “From Regulation to the Private Sector: Cybersecurity as a Business Obligation” will turn regulatory language into questions every company can understand: Who is affected? Where should businesses begin? How much can compliance cost? Who is responsible when something goes wrong?
From NIS2 Compliance to Real Cyber Resilience
The conversation will explore the journey from an initial cybersecurity assessment to compliance and long-term risk management, including management accountability, implementation costs and the consequences companies may face when adequate security measures are not in place.
Another increasingly important challenge is AI in the workplace. As companies adopt AI tools, their cybersecurity risk profile changes too. And the issue becomes even more complex when employees independently use AI platforms to process business information, potentially creating risks organizations may not even know exist.
Bringing different perspectives to the discussion are Dr Andreja Mihailović, cybersecurity law and regulation expert, President of Women4Cyber Montenegro and Manager of the Cybersecurity Innovation Hub at the University of Montenegro; Sanja Kekić, President of Women4Cyber Serbia; Danilo Potpara from the Cybersecurity Agency of Montenegro; and Mitja Trampuž, Managing Director of CREAPLUS, bringing experience from the implementation of NIS2 requirements in the European Union.
The discussion will be moderated by Dragana Bulatović, an expert in ISO standards and GDPR.
The message behind the panel is simple: cybersecurity compliance is not a document, certificate or one-time project. It is an ongoing business responsibility built around risk, accountability and resilience.
